Booker T Outlines Preferred Scenario for Oba Femi versus Brock Lesnar Trilogy

Booker T outlined his vision for the Oba Femi versus Brock Lesnar trilogy and highlighted his own King of the Ring legacy.

In a Hall of Fame podcast interview, Booker examined Femi’s trajectory after the King of the Ring winner secured a world title opportunity at SummerSlam. Noting Femi’s 1‑1 record with Lesnar, he suggested that the optimal rubber match would have Femi defending the championship while Lesnar challenges. Yet this scenario appears unlikely, as Femi has opted to forgo his scheduled world title bout and instead face Lesnar in a Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam.

Booker expressed that the trilogy would be more compelling if Oba held the championship and Brock served as the challenger. He added that this arrangement would maintain fan intrigue, even with Femi as champion. “If he’s the champion, he’s still not the automatic favorite; spectators will continue to wonder whether Brock Lesnar can capture the title once more. That uncertainty is precisely what I would build into the storyline,” he said.

Booker also recalled his historic role in King of the Ring, noting that the tournament’s world title reward stems from his legacy.

He emphasized that the King of the Ring winner earns a title shot, a benefit he helped create. “I’m the sole individual who has ever won the King of the Ring and then captured the championship outright,” Booker asserted.

Regarding Femi’s choice, Booker stressed that the King of the Ring winner now bears the burden of expectation.

He added that observers will evaluate Femi’s entire run. “How formidable a king was Oba Femi by the end?” he asked. “From king to king, I’d advise him to go out and rule, but to do so with an iron fist, ensuring there’s nothing to worry about,” he concluded.
