The Palma 3’s most notable enhancement lies in its hardware redesign. While retaining the 6.13-inch, 300ppi E Ink Carta display from its predecessor — a screen that has aged somewhat — the device now features a new anodized aluminum chassis complemented by a paper-textured fiberglass backplate. This gives the Palma 3 a premium feel that marks a clear step forward for the series, even though internal specifications remain largely unchanged. As a pocket-friendly e-reader, it runs on a Qualcomm Q-6690 octa-core processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD. Additional features include a 3950mAh battery, a 16-megapixel rear camera, and a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.
While the original Palma and Palma 2 launched with Android 11 and Android 13, the Palma 3 steps up to Android 16 — just one version behind the current release — lending it a more contemporary smartphone-like experience. Similar to the Palma 2 Pro, it supports Boox’s InkSense Plus active stylus, enabling note-taking functionality through compatible apps. However, the stylus is sold separately as an optional accessory priced at $46, which brings the total cost closer to that of high-end e-note devices such as the Remarkable Paper Pure.
