Tom Holland’s globally released Spider-Man: Brand New Day is projected to dominate the domestic box office opening weekend, outperforming Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor’s The End of Oak Street. The dinosaur-themed science fiction film, directed by David Robert Mitchell and produced by J.J. Abrams, is expected to open with $20 million from 3,446 North American theaters, placing it third behind the Spider-Man franchise.

The End of Oak Street, described as a fusion of Jurassic Park, E.T., and Cloverfield, faces stiff competition from Paramount Pictures’ Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie, which is similarly projected to earn $20 million from 3,545 theaters. At No. 5, the music documentary Katseye: Wild Hearts is forecast to open with $3.6 million in 724 theaters.

The Spider-Man sequel continues its box office dominance, aiming to secure another weekend at the top with an estimated $67 million gross from 4,539 theaters. This projection would bring its domestic total to $782.8 million. The original The Odyssey sequel follows in second place with $23 million from 3,217 theaters, elevating its cumulative domestic earnings to $504.4 million.

Since its July debut, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has set records, earning $360 million in its opening weekend to surpass Avengers: Endgame’s domestic benchmark. The film crossed $1 billion globally upon its second weekend and reaches $1.823 billion worldwide as it enters its third weekend.
