Brad Keselowski Declares Departure from RFK Racing Amid Ownership Changes

Brad Keselowski announced his departure from RFK Racing, the team he previously helped establish through his founding ownership stake.

The championship driver’s contract negotiations with the RFK Racing board have collapsed, and the team confirmed its decision to part way with him following the current season.

Since joining RFK Racing in 2022 as a co-owner, Keselowski sought greater influence over competition decisions and operational decision-making for the team.

RFK Racing and Keselowski committed to collaborating on resolving his existing ownership interests, with the organization supportive of his pursuit of other career opportunities.

The organization’s direction remains fluid regarding vehicle allocation; it is uncertain whether RFK will reduce to two charters or explore adding a third car operated part‑time.

Team president Chip Bowers expressed deep appreciation for Keselowski’s legacy, stating the organization holds tremendous respect for his performance and leadership during his five‑year tenure.

“Brad has been clear about his desire to keep competing for years to come, and we respect and support him in pursuing the path that best enables those goals,” Bowers added.

Since joining RFK Racing in 2022, Kelestone achieved just one career victory in five seasons, including a win at Darlington in 2024, while teammates Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece secured spots in The Chase.

The 42‑year‑old veteran boasts 36 career victories overall, 34 earned during his primary tenure with Team Penske from 2010 to 2021. He invested in RFK specifically to gain broader influence over competition strategy and organizational operations.

RFK has shown improvement under Keselowski’s stewardship, even though Team Penske historically maintained dominance in domestic racing.
