“Still” shares sonic similarities with Mars’s No. 1 hit “Die With a Smile” featuring Lady Gaga, which won the category just a few years ago, and the classic “Uptown Funk!” This familiarity could sway voters who remain fond of that sound, especially since “Die With a Smile” surprisingly missed out on Song of the Year and Record of the Year nominations—a decision that now seems like a miss.
