With the NFL trade deadline looming on November 10, the Arizona Cardinals are widely viewed as potential sellers, and safety Budda Baker stands out as a prime candidate to draw significant interest from contenders. The key question remains whether Arizona will receive an offer compelling enough to part with their defensive centerpiece.
Baker, however, is refusing to engage with the uncertainty. “I just live in the present, like today having a great time with [the media], and going to have a great Friday practice,” Baker said, sporting a Halloween mask during his press conference, according to Darren Urban of the team’s official website. “I’m going to just focus on playing the Dallas Cowboys at their stadium.”
The 30-year-old veteran is enjoying a standout campaign, amassing 44 tackles, an interception, four pass breakups, and a career-high 3.5 sacks through the first half of the season. While he informed ESPN earlier this week that he has not formally requested a trade, he also acknowledged he has not asked the front office to keep him in Arizona. Baker remains under contract through the 2027 season.
