The Cadillac Formula 1 team announced it will introduce another substantial upgrade package for this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix.

Although the American outfit began its F1 journey as a backmarker, it has steadily improved performance through consistent updates to the MAC-26.

These updates featured an enhanced rear wing and exhaust in Monaco, followed by additional rear wing and cooling refinements at Barcelona, where Sergio Pérez qualified just 1.9 seconds off the fastest Q1 time and outpaced the Aston Martins by 1.2 seconds.

Cadillac continues this momentum into the Red Bull Ring round, with Silverstone scheduled for the following week. Team principal Graeme Lowdon noted, “The races now follow in quick succession, and balancing logistics while boosting competitive performance remains a key challenge this part of the season.”

“We are pleased to bring another substantial upgrade package this weekend. Featuring new sidepods and a revised floor, the package represents a significant amount of work, and we hope it will continue our steady progress toward the midfield.”

“We do not underestimate the challenges presented by Austria, but we continue to learn and are confident we can make further progress this weekend.”

After narrowly missing points in a chaotic Monaco race and facing a difficult round in Spain, Pérez believes the new components will help Cadillac climb further up the order.

“Every race feels like a step forward, and there was much to learn from reaching the checkered flag in Barcelona,” he said.

“Development is progressing well, with the factory working at full capacity to deliver new parts to the track, and we hope this weekend’s upgrade will deliver another incremental gain.”
