After the Titans’ 26-0 loss to the Texans dropped them to 0-4 last season, quarterback Cam Ward delivered a starkly honest evaluation of his team.

“If we keep it a buck right now, we ass,” Ward said.

Ward’s rookie season is currently highlighted on Netflix’s Quarterback series, and when reflecting on the “We ass” remark, he explained that he was merely providing an accurate assessment of his own performance.

He continued, “That’s how I’ve lived my life — raised to be truthful. I meant exactly what I said.”

The Titans secured their first win in the following game after Ward’s candid remarks, perhaps spurred by his honesty. Despite the season’s overall struggles — culminating in a 3-14 record and the firing of head coach Brian Callahan — they discovered they possessed a quarterback willing to speak openly.
