The No. 13 nationally ranked Terriers upended the No. 3 Michigan State Spartans — who feature Canucks prospect Anthony Romani — by a 6-2 count Friday in East Lansing, Mich.

It was a fourth straight win for the Terriers.

The Terriers lead the NCAA with 18 NHL draft picks. Michigan State sits second with 17. Michigan State’s nine first-round picks are the most of any NCAA team this season.

Malhotra, the centre who was a first-round selection (No. 3 overall) in June’s NHL draft, had a goal and an assist Friday, helping the Terriers get out to a 4-0 lead.

Malhotra finished with five shots. The 18-year-old goes into Saturday with points in four straight games and sitting at three goals and seven points on the season.

Aaram-Olsen, 18, is a winger who was a second rounder in June. He had an assist Friday.

Defenceman Celebrini, 22, was picked in the sixth round in 2023. He left Friday’s game early with an undisclosed injury.

Boston University coach Jay Pandolfo said after that he’d be re-evaluated this morning.

Romani, 21, had an assist in the losing cause. He was a 2024 sixth rounder. He’s bolted out the gate this season, heading into Saturday with seven goals and 11 points already.

“We dug ourselves a hole, and I thought our response was good in the third and we had some opportunities even when it was a two-goal game,” Michigan State coach Adam Nightingale said after. “We obviously got exposed in some areas, and the first place you look as a coach is in the mirror and I’ve got to do a better job of helping these guys understand what it takes to be consistently good.”
