• ADA market cap increased 42% since September 16, per Santiment.
  • Whale transfers exceeding $100,000 reached 413 in a single day, the highest since June.
  • Cardano’s CIP-0113 programmable token standard is now live on mainnet.

Cardano’s ADA cryptocurrency is gaining significant attention as whale activity and social engagement rise, coinciding with the successful deployment of its latest infrastructure upgrade.

ADA Whale Activity Rises as Social Interest Returns

Market intelligence platform Santiment reports that ADA’s market capitalization has grown 42% since September 16, rising from approximately $0.19 to around $0.27.

In a post on X, Santiment noted that transactions valued at $100,000 or more reached 413 in a single day—the highest level of whale activity since June 4.

Concurrently, Cardano is re-emerging as a focal point for retail traders. Santiment’s data indicates ADA’s social dominance climbed to 1.16%, marking its highest figure of 2026 and suggesting a potential shift from its recent market dormancy.

Santiment Identifies Key Drivers of Momentum

Santiment highlighted multiple factors fueling increased interest, including the October 1 launch of RealFi on Cardano mainnet, anticipation for the Leios upgrade, Fireblocks integration, and expanding institutional partnerships.

“New project developments are generating momentum,” the firm stated, linking these catalysts to what it describes as Cardano’s “biggest discussion spike of the year.”

Cardano Deploys Programmable Token Standard on Mainnet

The Cardano Foundation announced on October 7 that its CIP-0113 programmable token standard is now operational on the mainnet.

This standard enables compliant issuance of stablecoins, tokenized funds, bonds, and other regulated assets by embedding compliance rules directly into tokens. Permitted features include KYC/AML checks, sanctions screening, transfer restrictions, and freeze/seize functions.

The upgrade positions Cardano to support regulated financial instruments alongside traditional cryptocurrencies.

On the Flipside

  • CIP-0113 does not inherently drive ADA price increases, nor does it guarantee immediate institutional adoption of the network.

Why This Matters

The critical question now is whether this renewed market enthusiasm translates into sustained network activity and long-term adoption. Should this occur, Cardano’s recent surge may represent a structural shift rather than another transient altcoin rally. Presently, data confirms both market sentiment and network engagement are demonstrably revitalized.
