Arizona’s historical edge over Dallas remains one of the NFL’s most intriguing puzzles.
Arizona rallied from a 17‑3 deficit after replacing Jacoby Brissett with Gardner Minshew, who guided the Cardinals to a 33‑30 overtime victory. The Cardinals are 5‑0 all‑time at AT&T Stadium and have won nine of the last ten meetings in the series.
Both clubs sit at 3‑5 on the season.
Dallas has yet to secure consecutive wins since last November and left the stadium Sunday feeling they had handed the game away.
Arizona suffered key injuries, losing left tackle Jayden Williams (knee), running back Jeremiyah Love (ankle), running back Bam Knight (concussion) and wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (ankle). Wide receiver Reggie Virgil was hurt after colliding with the goal post with 2:16 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Minshew entered the game with 1:35 left in the third quarter and produced four straight touchdowns on his initial drives. His 13‑yard scoring strike to Michael Wilson knotted the contest at 30‑30 with six seconds left in regulation, though kicker Chad Ryland missed his first extra point since 2024.
The miss sent the game into overtime, where both teams failed to score on their opening possessions. On their second overtime try, the Cardinals advanced 44 yards in eight plays, and Ryland responded with a 42‑yard field goal to win the game.
Arizona dominated the stats, outgaining Dallas 467 yards to 261. Minshew completed 17 of 23 passes for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Tyler Allgeier, the Cardinals’ sole healthy running back after Love and Knight went down, rushed 11 times for 147 yards and a touchdown, adding five receptions for 44 yards and another score.
Wilson finished with eight catches for 111 yards and a touchdown, while tight end Trey McBride added seven receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown.
Dak Prescott threw for 195 yards on 19 of 29 passes, finding CeeDee Lamb on seven receptions for 58 yards and adding a touchdown. Javonte Williams contributed 56 rushing yards on 24 carries.
With 2:07 to play in the fourth quarter, Dallas had an opportunity to seal the victory but failed to convert a touchdown, allowing Brandon Aubrey’s 41‑yard field goal with 1:09 remaining. The win positions Minshew as a strong candidate for NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
