Carmen Villain, born Carmen Maria Hillestad, is a Michigan‑born musician of Norwegian and Mexican descent known for her experimental electronic compositions.
She has announced her upcoming album, Memory, the follow‑up to her 2022 release Only Love From Now On. The lead single “Entre Nosotros” (translation: “Between Us”) showcases Villain’s signature approach, blending archival sounds with new recordings that feature her clarinet, Johanna Orellana’s flutes, and Eivind Lønning’s trumpet, creating an ambient soundscape that evokes a fleeting haze of memory.
