Carrot Top Hospitalized, Cancelling Las Vegas Residency for Weekend

Carrot Top was hospitalized on Friday night and has cancelled his Las Vegas residency shows for the weekend.

A representative for the comedian, born Scott Thompson, said, “Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs. His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy.” The representative did not disclose further details about his condition.

Both Friday and Saturday performances at the Luxor, where Thompson has held a 21‑year residency, were cancelled. A Monday night show remains scheduled.

Best known for his wild hair and zany onstage antics—including diving into a chest of humorous props—Carrot Top has starred in films such as Chairman of the Board and Pauly Shore Is Dead. He has also appeared as himself on TV series like the Vegas‑set CSI, Reno 911 and the recent Hacks.
