Celtic Position Themselves Around Potential Takeover of PSV Midfielder Van den Berg

Celtic are reported to be in advanced talks with PSV Eindhoven to sign midfielder Joel van denBerg, while Scottish rivals also appear to have missed several potential targets as Dundee United explore a new offer for Falkirk player Brad Spencer.

A Celtic team representing both clubs visited the Netherlands to negotiate the acquisition of midfielder Joel van denBerg. The 19‑year‑old has not yet become a permanent fixture in PSV’s squad but remains open to moving abroad.

PSV Eindhoven are prepared to loosen Joel van derberg’s contract to Celtic after the 23‑hour absence from Jong PSV during their match against RKC Waalwijk on Friday, according to Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink (Visually‑hidden, external).

Hajduk Split head coach Gonzalez Garcia confirmed that Celtic target Niko Sigur has completed his final senior outing for the club. Though the 22‑year‑old shows clear desire to join the Scottish champions, he contends from Genk and Toulouse.

Partizan Belgrade president Rasim Ljajić said the club turned down Celtic’s pursuit of playmaker Ognjen Ugresic because it had already committed to selling the 20‑year‑old to PAOK for £400 000—well below the amount the Scottish side was willing to pay.

Celtic will also be left behind by Ermin Mahmic, who has signed a £4.3 million transfer deed with Corum, the recently promoted Super Lig side.
