Celtic Pursue Serie A Winger Matteo Cancellieri to Replace Daizen Maeda

Celtic are reportedly in advanced discussions to sign Lazio winger Matteo Cancellieri as a strategic replacement for departing forward Daizen Maeda. The move aligns with the club’s efforts to revitalize their attack following Maeda’s transfer to Ipswich Town after completing a medical there.

Maeda’s exit has sparked internal debate, with former Celtic striker Chris Sutton criticizing the decision as “utter baffling” and questioning the reported £8m fee, which could rise to £10m.
