Charli XCX continues to define the cultural moment this summer. With the Brat follow-up, Music, Fashion, Film, arriving in less than two weeks, the pop provocateur staged a surprise performance at the 650-capacity Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn.
The British artist delivered live debuts of “Playboy Bunny,” “SS26,” “Wink Wink,” and “Rock Music,” while also premiering the unreleased tracks “Camera” and “Take Away The Music.” She shared the stage with a lineup of notable collaborators: upcoming tour opener Underscores, Kim Petras, and Clairo. Charli assisted Underscores on the electronic artist’s track “Music,” teamed up with Petras for the Detour single “Jeep,” and joined Clairo for a duet on the bedroom-pop staple “Sofia.” The setlist was rounded out with deep cuts from How I’m Feeling Now—”party 4 u,” “anthems,” and “pink diamond”—alongside the Brat breakout hit “Apple.”
