His exit has created an urgent need for replacement options in the squad. Monaco initially rejected a £38m bid for Camara, though the French club have now accepted an improved offer worth £47m.
The player has been granted permission to travel to London for his medical examination, with the clock ticking before tonight’s 11pm deadline. All formalities are expected to be finalized in time.
Should any delays arise, clubs can request a two-hour extension once the dealsheet has been submitted. Chelsea remain confident in completing the transfer and securing the Senegalese international’s signature.
The 22-year-old could make his Premier League debut for the club against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
