Chelsea Won’t Pursue Arsenal Midfielder Ethan Nwaneri Again, Citing Past Failure

Nwaneri not wanted by Chelsea?

Chelsea has no intention of reviving its pursuit of Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri after an unsuccessful attempt last summer, according to The Daily Mail.

He was the club’s main target last year, but he ultimately signed a new long‑term contract with Arsenal.

Nwaneri was loaned to Marseille in January because of limited playing time, but his spell in France proved frustrating.

It is now reported that Arsenal is considering selling their academy graduate to generate a clean profit.

Chelsea has been linked with a renewed approach for the youngster, yet the club’s hierarchy remains uninterested in Nwaneri this summer.

The club is instead focused on signing a more experienced young midfielder, with Tottenham Hotspur’s Lucas Bergvall under consideration.

Chelsea’s board are expected to finalise transfers after speaking with new manager Xabi Alonsowho has the power to veto deals this summer
