The upcoming model features a comprehensive overhaul, including new V8 engines, a redesigned exterior aesthetic, and significant technological upgrades within the cabin.
Unveiled on Tuesday, the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 represents one of the pickup’s most substantial updates in recent years. The vehicle is expected to hit the market at the end of this year, with official pricing to be announced at a later date.
“Silverado has earned the trust of truck owners through decades of real-world performance,” stated Scott Bell, Vice President of Global Chevrolet. “With the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500, we are building upon that legacy by offering our most capable, refined, and advanced Silverado lineup yet.”

The 2027 lineup will provide four distinct powertrain options, highlighted by new 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines. Chevrolet noted that the truck will feature the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in its segment.
Other available options include an updated 2.7-liter TurboMax engine paired with a 10-speed transmission, as well as the Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel.
“Whether handling heavy towing or the daily requirements of our customers, these next-generation V8s were engineered and tested to perform in demanding real-world conditions,” said Mark Dickens, Executive Chief Engineer at Chevrolet.
The 2027 Silverado will be available in seven distinct trims: Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado, Trail Boss, ZR2, and High Country.

Chevrolet’s new lineup is designed to cater to diverse consumer needs, ranging from utility-focused work trucks to specialized off-road and premium luxury models.
The ZR2 trim will serve as the premier off-road configuration, while the High Country will act as the flagship luxury variant.
The interior features a new digital cockpit for every 2027 Silverado, featuring a standard 16.3-inch center touchscreen and a 12.2-inch driver information display.
Additionally, Chevrolet announced that the Silverado will support Super Cruise driver-assistance technology with trailering capability, enabling hands-free driving on compatible roadways while towing.
The exterior has also been refreshed with a more robust front end, updated LED headlights and taillights, and redesigned wheel openings.

“Our goal was to create a truck that possesses a stronger, more modern presence at first glance while remaining true to the authentic character customers expect from the Silverado brand,” said Phil Zak, Chevrolet Global Executive Design Director.
Further details regarding availability and MSRP will be released later this year. Chevrolet’s last major redesign of the Silverado occurred in December 2017 with the introduction of the fourth-generation 2019 model.
