Senior Chinese official Cai Qi hosted a North Korean delegation in Beijing on Friday, urging both sides to deepen strategic communication and advance regional stability, according to Chinese state media.
Meeting with Kim Song Nam, director of the International Affairs Department of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Cai emphasized China’s commitment to implementing the “important consensus” reached by the two nations’ top leaders. He called for carrying forward the traditional friendship between the countries and strengthening mutual exchanges on party governance.
The visit follows a key Chinese Communist Party gathering focused on internal discipline and comes weeks after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un toured the Chinese border city of Dandong in late October, signaling sustained high-level engagement between the longtime allies.
