Chris Jericho Reflects on PAC’s Legacy as AEW Releases Extended Tribute Collection

More than two dozen AEW wrestlers have recorded video tributes honoring PAC.

Chris Jericho was unable to attend last night’s Dynamite tribute show but filmed a personal video sharing memories of PAC (Benjamin Satterley). Their history dates back to WWE, where Jericho immediately recognized PAC’s star potential and later helped recruit him during AEW’s formation.

• “The first time I ever worked with him was in Tokyo for WWE, and we tore the house down. I remember calling the office afterward saying, ‘This guy is a star. You’ve got to do something with this guy.’ We worked several times after that, including at Madison Square Garden, where it didn’t go the way we wanted. There were a few mistakes — probably caused by me, because Ben didn’t make mistakes in the ring, although he claimed he made nothing but mistakes. If you know, you know. We had a rematch the very next night in Glens Falls, New York, where we tore the house down again. I remember saying, ‘Man, I wish we could have had that match tonight last night at MSG.’ He said, ‘Yeah, but then the people in Glens Falls wouldn’t have gotten this classic match, and they’ll never forget it.'”
• “When we first started putting AEW together, Ben was one of the first guys I called to recruit him and tell him how great this company would be. When he finally joined us, he was nothing but the best of the best.”
• “I love you, man. I’m going to miss you, and we had so many great times together — some scary ones, too. I wish there was so much more. I’m going to miss you, Billy Whizz.” (Jericho’s nickname for PAC, referencing an inside joke about PAC’s favorite comic book character.) “And to the fine people of Glens Falls, New York, I hope you still remember that match.”
