For “Guardians of the Galaxy” fans, there is good news. Chris Pratt, who has portrayed Star-Lord across six films, recently confirmed that the character will return to the MCU and that Marvel has already taken “hard action” to make it happen.

“I have a strong relationship with Kevin [Feige] and Lou [D’Esposito],” Pratt said on the “Bingeworthy” podcast while discussing Star-Lord’s comeback. “There have been ongoing conversations about how to make good on that promise, and there has also been hard action taken to ensure that happens.”

He continued: “So yes, you’ll see Star-Lord again, which is very exciting. I’m not at liberty to say when that will be, but he’s not going away.”

The announcement came months after Pratt admitted that he pitched Marvel an idea for bringing Star-Lord back into the MCU. “I’m happy to do anything they want me to do and will,” he said on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. “And I personally have a strong vision for what I would want him to do. And I think it’s great.”

When asked if he had already pitched the idea to Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, Pratt responded: “Yep. And I’m willing to contribute in any way I can to help them set up the next 10 years of storytelling. I also have a pretty strong idea of how I could contribute.”

Pratt’s Star-Lord has appeared in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Avengers: Endgame,” “Thor: Love and Thunder” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” the latter of which included a post-credits scene teasing that Star-Lord would return.

The next installment in the MCU, “Avengers: Doomsday,” is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 18.
