“My articulation is no match against this, the magnitude of losing you. I am, quite literally, down on my fucking knees,” model’s younger sister writes in first public statement since her brother’s death
Kaia Gerber and Cindy Crawford both paid tribute to Presley Gerber on social media Sunday, nearly one month after the model died at the age of 27.
“We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years. He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever,” Crawford wrote in her first Instagram post since Presley’s death on September 20.
“We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from so many who know and love our family and even strangers who feel our pain. Til we meet again our sweet boy.”
Presley Gerber died September 20 at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, California. The Santa Monica Police Department said in a statement they were treating Gerber’s death as “a suspected overdose.” The toxicology and autopsy results are still pending.
In a separate Instagram post — her first public statement since Presley’s death — Kaia Gerber also remembered her older brother, writing to him, “I don’t have the words. And maybe the tiny mercy is that we didn’t need them all along… I’ve real all of the books and I have none of the answers. My articulation is no match against this, the magnitude of losing you. I am, quite literally, down on my fucking knees.”
She continued, “To say loving you was the easiest thing in the world would imply that it required any effort at all. I was born loving you. I will die loving you. There was never anything else.”
