A matchup between Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson would arguably be the biggest all‑American fight in boxing, and female boxing star Claressa Shields has shared her prediction for how the bout would unfold.

Davis, known as “Tank,” and Stevenson have been linked for a potential showdown for years, sparking debate over whether Davis’s power could overcome the technical skill of the Newark southpaw.

Both fighters lost their lightweight world titles this year without suffering a defeat. Davis is designated the WBA “champion‑in‑recess” after defending the belt only once since June 2024, with legal issues sidelining the three‑division champion.

Stevenson moved up to super‑lightweight to capture Teofimo Lopez’s WBO crown in January, intending to return to his natural lightweight division afterward. However, days after his victory, the WBC stripped him of the 135‑lb title due to unpaid sanctioning fees.

Despite these developments, fans remain eager to see Davis and Stevenson face off. On her social media, five‑division world champion Claressa Shields announced her pick, betting $100,000 that Stevenson would emerge victorious.

“What’s the bet? I got $100K. Lil Tank ain’t beating no damn SHAKUR!”

Stevenson has now signed with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing, leaving the likelihood of a fight with Davis uncertain.
