Communities around Chad’s Lake Province are facing mounting pressure as climate change and overfishing undermine the natural resources on which they depend. Fishing and farming have long sustained the region, but erratic weather, declining fish stocks and deteriorating farmland are driving up living costs and deepening local hardship.
