While providing commentary for a recent Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) event in Rockford, Illinois, CM Punk fueled speculation regarding his future by cryptically addressing questions about his upcoming schedule.
When commentators noted that the venue was a significant distance from his hometown of Chicago, Punk inquired if the scheduled event fell on a Friday, remarking:
It’s a Friday? I don’t know if I can make it.
The comment immediately ignited fan speculation concerning a possible return to WWE programming. This comes on the heels of Punk previously suggesting a future confrontation with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes following the events of WrestleMania 42.
Discussions regarding Punk’s trajectory have intensified following his recent hiatus after losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns.
CM Punk was asked if he’ll be at an upcoming CFFC event to do commentary:
“Is that a Friday? I don’t know if I can make it.”
