Tessa Blanchard, former TNA Knockouts Champion, announced during a recent interview with TMZ Sports’ Inside the Ropes that she will join Major League Wrestling (MLW) and make her debut at the promotion’s Fightland event on September 12 in Charleston, South Carolina. In the interview, Blanchard expressed excitement about bringing a flagship name to the MLW division, stating that the promotion’s women’s side “was built and now the franchise…well, I’m here.”

A vignette aired during the previous episode of MLW Fusion signaled Blanchard’s impending arrival, and MLW founder Court Bauer confirmed ongoing talks with her earlier in the month.

CMLL released a statement on Friday evening clarifying that Blanchard’s agreement with MLW is limited exclusively to her appearance at the September 12 event. The statement notes that no additional commitments, such as championship matches or extended contracts, are part of the arrangement and that there is no agreement among Tessa Blanchard, MLW, and CMLL extending beyond that date.

Blanchard, daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard, parted ways with TNA in June after the organization asked her to choose between competing for them or for CMLL.
