AEW will commemorate Rebel’s battle with ALS on September 9 with a special “Rebel Heart” edition of Dynamite at the Akins Ford Arena in Athens, Georgia. Proceeds from the event will benefit I AM ALS and Team Gleason. The latter organization, founded by former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason, provides adventure opportunities, technology, equipment, and care services to those living with ALS while advancing advocacy, research, and support toward ultimately ending the disease.
Rebel, whose real name is Tanea Brooks, publicly disclosed her ALS diagnosis in April. She has been with AEW since 2019.
