Italian food and beverage holding group Compagnia del Gusto Holding (CDGH) has continued its aggressive expansion strategy with the acquisition of local wine delivery platform Winelivery.
The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Ettore Nicoletto, Chief Executive Officer of Compagnia del Gusto Holding, explained that the acquisition is driven by industrial functionality rather than sheer scale. “The group possesses proprietary technology, a team with digital and artificial intelligence expertise, and a direct connection with urban consumers, which serves as a market laboratory for our entire portfolio,” Nicoletto stated.
Winelivery, co-founded by Francesco Magro, Giovanni Roberto, and Andrea Antinori, operates on a vertical business model that seamlessly integrates digital ordering with robust physical logistics.
By partnering directly with numerous brands and producers, the platform delivers a curated selection of wine, beer, and alternative beverages to consumers across more than 60 Italian cities, promising delivery times of under 30 minutes.
Winelivery has been integrated into CDGH’s sub-holding company, Compagnia delle Vigne. While its initial contributions will primarily support the wine division, the platform’s role is expected to broaden significantly in the coming years.
According to a statement from CDGH on LinkedIn, the Winelivery ecosystem is poised to deliver substantial benefits to other product categories within the holding group’s diverse portfolio in the short term.
Managed by the Cosulich family, CDGH was established in 2024 and has rapidly scaled its operations through a series of strategic acquisitions.
In August, the group acquired UK wine merchant Jascots from Henkell Freixenet, aiming to leverage the business to expand its Italian wine and food portfolio in the British market. This move followed the June acquisition of the Cantine Romagnoli winery in the Piacenza region, and the April purchase of the historic artisanal biscuit brand Krumiri Rossi from the Portinaro family.
