Cooper Hoffman stars as a former snowboarding sensation seeking a quick payday in Hulu’s upcoming drama pilot, Durango.
The pilot’s logline describes “Mikey, a local snowboard legend chasing a buzz, pairs with Bunny, a homeschooled runaway working as a greasy‑spoon waitress.” Together, they navigate a cascade of risky decisions, pursue love, and evade the law, criminals, and Mikey’s estranged wife as they chase their American dream.
In the screenplay, Mikey’s Olympic aspirations ended after an injury, leading him to agree to a green‑card marriage with Bunny for cash. When he falls for her, he finds himself drawn into deeper danger.
Eliza Clark wrote the pilot and serves as executive producer alongside Michael Ellenberg of Media Res. 20th Century Television and Media Res produce the series.
Hoffman first gained attention in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza and Francis Lawrence’s The Long Walk. He will also appear in Gregg Araki’s upcoming comedy‑thriller I Want Your Sex (theatrical release July 31), Maude Apatow’s TIFF‑premiered Poetic License, Luca Guadagnino’s AI drama Artificial, and A24’s road‑comedy The Chaperones, reuniting with former co‑star David Josson.
Hoffman’s filmography also includes Wildcat, Saturday Night, Old Guy, and Poetic License.
