Cotton futures closed the Tuesday session with contracts gaining between 21 and 57 points. Crude oil rose 48 cents per barrel, and the U.S. dollar index fell $0.308. According to Census data, the United States exported 917,974 bales of cotton in August, indicating strong overseas demand.
