Court Documents Show Alleged Victim of Singer D4vd Was Pregnant and Had Abortion Before Death

Messages exchanged between singer D4vd and Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the 14‑year‑old he is accused of killing, show that she was pregnant and had undergone an abortion prior to her death.

The messages were presented at a hearing where a judge decided whether the singer, legally known as David Anthony Burke, should stand trial for the teenager’s death last year.

Prosecutors quoted Celeste texting Burke in June 2024: “What if the first abortion didn’t work?” At that time Celeste was 13 and Burke was 19.

Prosecutors allege that Burke killed her after she threatened to expose his alleged abuse of a minor and ruin his career. He has pleaded not guilty to murder and sexual abuse charges.

In a January 2024 exchange, Burke apologized to the teen for “putting her through this,” as shown in messages presented in Los Angeles court on Friday.

She replied, “Neither of us is capable of caring for the baby; it’s for the best, isn’t it?”

Burke asked, “Also, my mother always told me to ask this question if I ever found myself in this situation… is it mine, right?”

Celeste answered, “Of course it’s yours, David,” according to a detective’s testimony.

The court also heard a June 2024 text from Burke to Celeste: “Let’s let this abortion be the last one until we have the real one…”

Prosecutors introduced iCloud data recovered from the defendant’s iPhone, revealing messages between him and Celeste dating back to August 8 2022, when Celeste was 11 and Burke was 17.

D4vd, who gained fame on TikTok with the viral songs “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me,” was on tour when police discovered Celeste’s body in the front trunk of his Tesla in September 2025—the day after she would have turned 15.

His worldwide tour was canceled and he largely withdrew from public life and social media.

Police announced his arrest in April of this year.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman filed seven criminal charges against him, including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and mutilation of remains.

They said the teen was reported missing by her family and was last seen at Burke’s Hollywood Hills home on April 3 2025, five months before her remains were found in the Tesla.

Prosecutors said he met Celeste online when she was 11 and allege he began sexually abusing her when she was 13 and he was 18.
