Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins has applauded first-year head coach Klint Kubiak for orchestrating an offseason program that established a strong foundation for revitalizing the struggling franchise. Cousins, reflecting on his 15th NFL offseason under the head coach, commended Kubiak’s meticulous approach during an interview with Andrew Siciliano.
“He’s an incredibly dedicated individual, exceptionally humble, with a remarkable ability to command respect,” Cousins remarked. “He maintains a serious demeanor, minimizing distractions, which enabled us to concentrate on the essentials.”
“After OTAs, I confidently told him, ‘Coach, this was undoubtedly the most concentrated and productive offseason I’ve experienced,’ a testament to his leadership from the outset,” Cousins added. “We achieved significant progress over the 10-week period, establishing a robust foundation. Although the journey ahead is lengthy, we are on the right track.”
Cousins further elaborated on Kubiak’s reserved coaching style, clarifying that his quiet nature does not diminish his authority. “While he isn’t overly verbose, his expectations are unequivocal,” Cousins explained. “His unwavering conviction and the clear vision he instills in the team foster a sense of certainty that resonates with players. His intensity and commitment are palpable, ensuring there’s no ambiguity regarding his goals for the franchise.”
