CryptoJobsList data for 2025 show no significant August‑September increase, contrary to expectations that the end of summer would boost hiring. The year overall remained modest, with October emerging as the most active month, recording only 373 listings, while figures stayed flat in July, August and September.
Although listings rose sharply in September, applications fell, dropping to just under 20,000 compared with 25,700 in July and 24,631 in August.
The platform interprets this divergence as evidence that competition for specialist workers is tightening, even though its data alone cannot explain why applications have moved opposite to listings.
The listing breakdown reveals finance as the largest job category over the past three months, followed by engineering and trading, with stablecoins, AI, security and compliance also featuring in the top ten. Bitcoin was the most sought‑after blockchain familiarity, followed by Ethereum and Solana, reflecting the prominence of the three largest networks in the industry.
CryptoJobsList indicates the market is entering the fourth quarter with the highest number of openings recorded this year, yet applicant numbers have not kept pace.
