Veteran Nigerian musician John “Daddy Showkey” Asiemo has voiced his disappointment regarding the ongoing feud between P-Square’s Peter and Paul Okoye and their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
His comments emerged during a widely discussed interview with Goldmyne TV, where he stated that the brothers’ conflict had dismantled what he considers “Africa’s most prominent music group.”
PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that the family’s disputes had kept them trending for several days following fresh allegations among the siblings.
Peter, known as Mr P, reignited tensions by releasing videos outlining his perspective on P-Square’s history, financial management, and the factors behind the group’s recurring separations.
At 56 years old, he stated, “I will tell them this: they destroyed the biggest brand that Africa has ever produced. You see, P-Square transcends individual ownership. As an entertainer, your legacy belongs not just to you, but to your supporters. Today marks my 56th birthday, and I’m celebrating it because the people who made me Daddy Showkey inspire my actions.”

Furthermore, the “Fire Fire” vocalist implored the brothers to seek resolution for their family’s sake.
He also emphasized the importance of unity for their children’s wellbeing.
“Carrying this conflict forward will only burden your children. No matter what, you remain brothers. You must find a way to reconcile and move forward for their benefit,” Daddy Showkey advised.

The singer encouraged the siblings to follow his personal example, having navigated similar family strife.
“I’ve walked a similar path and chose not to engage in disputes. You should do the same. Work toward resolving this as brothers,” he urged.
“Legacy endures. They must reconcile before it’s too late,” he added.
Peter and Paul Okoye, who united as P-Square in 1999, became one of Africa’s most influential music duos before their initial separation in 2017. After reconciling in 2021, they split again in 2024 amid financial and management disagreements.
Their family rift prompted an investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and legal proceedings involving Jude, who has refuted financial misconduct allegations.
Jude Okoye publicly countered his brother’s accusations, denying wrongdoing and challenging the accuracy of financial claims.
The conflict intensified after their eldest brother, Henry, criticized Jude for exacerbating the prolonged family dispute.
