Datavault AI’s shares fell sharply, dropping approximately 50% on Tuesday following a disclosure that the company had been unable to withdraw bitcoin from crypto exchange Biconomy since June, prompting a necessary restatement of its financial results.

The stock closed at $0.067, representing a 49.55% decline, with around 244 million shares changing hands.

The issue stems from a September 2025 agreement with Scilex Holding Company, which committed to purchasing $150 million in Datavault shares and warrants using bitcoin. Scilex transferred 1,309.04 BTC to Datavault’s Biconomy account via off-chain transfers, altering balances without blockchain transactions. Datavault subsequently sold 491.4 BTC back to Scilex for approximately $40.5 million in cash.

However, the withdrawal to an external account requested in June could not be finalized, and the issue persisted as of Monday’s filing.

Biconomy also played a role in supplying the bitcoin backing the investment. According to Scilex’s June financial report, it sold $200 million worth of shares in its subsidiary Semnur to Biconomy for bitcoin, subsequently allocating $150 million to acquire Datavault securities.
