Arsenal’s Declan Rice has raised alarm after appearing to limp with his left calf heavily strapped in the mixed zone following England’s 0‑0 draw against Ghana.
The midfield mainstay completed the full 90 minutes but showed clear signs of fatigue and possible injury by match’s end.
David Ornstein shares Declan Rice injury concern
According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Rice was observed walking through the media area at Boston Stadium with an obvious limp and a heavily taped left calf.
The 27‑year‑old was spotted with his left calf wrapped in medical strapping and limping noticeably as he made his way past reporters.
At present, the extent of the injury is unknown. Medical staff are expected to evaluate Rice in the coming hours to determine whether it is a minor knock or a more serious muscle strain.
The timing is especially troubling for England, who face Panama in New Jersey on Saturday for their final Group L fixture, leaving Rice little time to recover and prove his fitness.

Rice is key player for Thomas Tuchel’s side
The injury scare poses a significant tactical challenge for England manager Thomas Tuchel. Rice is a pivotal figure in the squad, providing essential defensive solidity and midfield linkage, as highlighted during England’s opening World Cup win over Croatia.
Following a goalless draw with a defensively compact Ghana, the Three Lions still need a positive result against Panama to secure a place in the knockout stages.
Losing a player of Rice’s defensive capabilities would be a severe setback for Tuchel’s plans.
