Declan Rice is closing in on a new long‑term contract with Arsenal, according to sources speaking to BBC Sport.
The England midfielder has become a cornerstone of the Gunners’ midfield since his £105 million move from West Ham United in July 2023.
His current agreement runs until the end of next season, but talks on a renewal were already underway. BBC Sport reported in March that the negotiations have now reached an advanced stage.
Rice, aged 27, has featured in more than 150 matches for Arsenal and remains a key figure for England. Manager Thomas Tuchel praised him this week as one of the best midfielders in Europe.
The new deal would significantly boost his reported £240,000‑per‑week salary, aligning him with Arsenal’s top earner Bukayo Saka, who commands around £350,000 a week.
The development follows Arsenal’s recent announcement that head coach Mikel Arteta has signed a new four‑year contract with the Premier League club.
