Delta Air Lines is set to elevate the dining experience and onboard service within its Delta One lie-flat business class cabin, with these enhancements expected to roll out to passengers as early as November 2026. These updates offer travelers a taste of the premium service ahead of the highly anticipated debut of the new Delta One suites, which are scheduled to take flight in 2027.
Among the key highlights of this upgrade are a newly introduced Delta One burger, a roasted sea bass entrée, an expanded window for pre-selecting meals, and the limited-time return of premium Bombas socks as an amenity on select routes.
Delta One is offered on select domestic and international routes. A typical Delta One fare from Los Angeles to New York regularly starts above $2,000, or can be redeemed for 200,000 Delta SkyMiles. However, travelers can often secure awards for fewer miles by booking through partner airlines such as Flying Blue or Virgin Atlantic.
Members of the press were recently invited to sample the upcoming menu and amenities prior to their official debut on transoceanic Delta One flights departing from Los Angeles in November 2026.
Here is a detailed look at what Delta One travelers can expect as these enhancements gradually roll out to additional destinations.
New onboard food and drinks
To bring a “Michelin mindset” to its menus, Delta has collaborated with Simon Hulstone, one of the United Kingdom’s most celebrated culinary experts.
Building on the popularity of the Shake Shack burger offered in first class on select flights, Delta One will introduce its own signature burger featuring premium wagyu beef, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, and cornichons. Already a favorite in Delta One lounges, this elevated burger will now be served inflight, providing excellent dining options for travelers departing from airports without a Delta One lounge, or those on Business Basic fares without lounge access.
Among the standout dishes sampled was the roasted sea bass, which proved exceptionally tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, effectively dispelling any preconceived notions about serving fish at altitude.
The new menu also features a selection of comforting and refined dishes, including a creamy risotto, braised lamb, savory beef short rib, rich macaroni and cheese, a classic chicken Caesar salad, and a delectable chicken salad croissant.
The beverage program will also see enhancements, with Blanton’s Kentucky bourbon and Japanese Dassai sake—available on flights to and from Tokyo-Haneda—joining the menu in fall 2026. In spring 2027, the airline will introduce two new cocktails: a classic paloma and a refreshing Hugo spritz, both of which will also be available as non-alcoholic mocktails.
More choices
As the competition for premium travel experiences intensifies, airlines are placing a greater emphasis on customization. For Delta One passengers, this means an expanded selection of menu options and increased flexibility regarding both dining and rest.
Delta will expand its pre-selection meal options to include lighter bites and gluten-free choices. Additionally, the airline is extending the pre-order window, allowing passengers to select their meals up to 18 hours prior to departure—reduced from the previous 24 hours. This makes Delta the only U.S. carrier to offer pre-orders so close to departure time.
To accommodate travelers prioritizing rest, Delta One passengers can now opt out of the full meal service in favor of a lighter alternative. Instead of a complete breakfast, flyers will have the option of enjoying a quick cup of coffee and a fresh croissant before landing.
“True luxury is about crafting the experience around the individual—today’s premium traveler values choice as much as quality,” noted Kristen Manion Taylor, Delta’s senior vice president of brand experience.
Added amenities
Beginning November 3, 2026, Delta One will introduce its new winter collection of Missoni amenity kits. These curated kits will feature premium Grown Alchemist skincare products, a Marvis dental kit, a comfortable eye mask, and other thoughtful essentials.
Passengers on select routes will also receive a pair of exclusive Bombas socks featuring the “Fly Delta Jets” branding.
Furthermore, Delta One travelers will be treated to an extra “cuddle” pillow, designed to provide additional comfort and support during sleep.
And soon, new seats
These Delta One upgrades build upon Delta’s massive investment of over $1 billion in its fleet, which includes the complete redesign of the Delta One suites on its new A350-1000 aircraft as well as refreshed A330-200 and A330-300 planes.
The new suites feature lie-flat seats arranged in a spacious 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring direct aisle access for every passenger. The suites positioned along the sides of the aircraft are thoughtfully angled toward the window for enhanced privacy and views.
Measuring an impressive 81 inches in length, the seats offer abundant convenient storage options, including a dedicated purse hook, a secure spot for eyeglasses, spacious laptop storage, a passport holder, and integrated wireless charging. Passengers will also enjoy a generous 24-inch seatback entertainment screen.
While many of the new menu items, customization options, and amenities will be available before the end of the year, the highly anticipated new Delta One suites and seats are not expected to enter service until summer 2027.
