While Hearts have officially announced the exit of four players, including Beni Baningime and Frankie Kent, key figures Cammy Devlin and Craig Gordon were notably absent from the list of departing out-of-contract players.
Devlin is currently participating in Australia’s World Cup training camp in Florida, while Gordon has joined the Scotland national squad for the tournament, despite making only three appearances for Hearts this season.
Although both players are technically out of contract, their futures remain a point of interest; Devlin has been linked with potential moves to MLS or England, while the 43-year-old Gordon may consider retirement following the World Cup.
The club also confirmed several other departures on Tuesday, including captain Lawrence Shankland’s move to Rangers, alongside Lewis Neilson and winger Alan Forrest.
Baningime, 27, joined the Edinburgh club from Everton in 2021, amassing 127 appearances and making 20 league starts during the current campaign.
Central defender Frankie Kent, 30, recorded four goals across 95 appearances since arriving from Colchester United in 2023.
Former Livingston winger Alan Forrest, 29, also joined in 2023, contributing 14 goals in 147 matches.
Defender Lewis Neilson, 23, spent this season on loan at Falkirk, following previous temporary stints at St Johnstone and Partick Thistle after joining from Dundee United in 2022.
In terms of new arrivals, the club has secured forward Josh McPake and midfielder Tom Renaud for the upcoming season.
