On Wednesday, the Democratic National Committee filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, aiming to prevent the use of taxpayer funds for advertisements that promote the president in the lead-up to the midterm elections.
The DNC contended that the advertisements contravene congressional restrictions on using public funds for publicity and propaganda, as well as rules prohibiting expenditures not authorized by Congress. Democrats asserted that these ads undermine their campaign finances and impede their candidates’ ability to compete effectively.
