CoreWeave gained 16% in after‑hours trading following robust sales growth, while Super Micro Computer advanced nearly 8% amid an above‑forecast revenue outlook, contributing to gains in Nasdaq‑100 futures.
Oil prices continued to rise, with Brent climbing above 1% to $90 per barrel, marking its sixth consecutive daily increase — the longest streak since April — while traders remain skeptical about a potential Middle East agreement.
Jeff Mei, chief operating officer at BTSE, indicated that this week’s market direction will hinge on the upcoming inflation data and on whether Iran and the United States can broker an agreement concerning the Strait of Hormuz.
‘Last week’s U.S. job numbers were weak — an ongoing narrative that supports this trend and suggests lower inflation could cement expectations for year‑end Fed cuts, boosting liquidity and risk assets such as Bitcoin,’ Mei said.
Investors should monitor any hawkish pushback from Fed speakers, though the broader macro environment could spark a relief rally if this week’s CPI figures come in below expectations,’ he added.
July inflation data is scheduled for release at 8:30 a.m. ET, with oil price movements feeding directly into the report.
