Dolly Parton Buried in Private Nashville Ceremony Next to Husband Carl Dean

Dolly Parton has been laid to rest in a private, small ceremony, honoring the country music legend’s final wishes. The service was confirmed by her great-niece, Lainey Parton, who shared a heartfelt remembrance on social media following the ceremony.

“This is a really hard post for me to make. I wanted to wait until after my granny was laid to rest yesterday before I tried to put any of this into words,” Parton wrote. “Because she couldn’t have kids of her own, she always made us feel like we were hers. She loved us that way, and I’ll forever be grateful for that.”

She continued, “I feel incredibly lucky that I got to call her my granny. Thank you for always believing in me, loving me, and making me feel like I could do anything.”

She concluded, “I love you, Granny. Always.”

Parton, who passed away on August 25, was interred at Woodlawn Memorial Park, one of Nashville’s largest cemeteries. The site also serves as the final resting place for other notable figures in country music history, including Porter Wagoner, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Eddy Arnold, and Marty Robbins.

While her legacy aligns Tennessee’s music elite, her center undoubtedly was her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, who was laid to rest at the same cemetery in 2025. Dolly and Carl Dean’s names were previously inscribed on a plaque located on Dean’s mausoleum at the site.

Reports confirm the singer was laid to rest beside her husband, bringing her six-decade love story to its final resting place side by side.
