The Democratic Republic of Congo has received more than 16,000 doses of an Ebola vaccine as authorities intensify efforts to contain the ongoing outbreak. With more than 2,500 deaths already recorded, World Health Organization officials warn this epidemic could surpass the 2014–2016 West African crisis, which claimed over 11,000 lives.
