Russian officials reported that overnight, approximately 620 drones were launched toward the Moscow region, resulting in several injuries and damage to buildings.
With frontline combat stalled and diplomatic talks at a standstill, both Ukraine and Russia have intensified long-range strikes, driving civilian casualties to levels not seen since the early months of the 2022 invasion.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced on the state‑backed MAX platform that Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed over 180 of the drones above the capital region.
Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov said via Telegram that the drone barrage wounded three individuals, including a 10‑year‑old girl.
He added, “Tonight and this morning, air‑defense and electronic‑warfare units were engaged in repelling a large‑scale drone assault on the Moscow region.”
‘Most serious consequences’
Vorobyov noted that the most severe impacts occurred in the Pavlovsky Posad district, where a residential house was set ablaze.
Additionally, a drone hit an east‑Moscow warehouse operated by the e‑commerce company Wildberries.
Wildberries stated that its logistics facility in the Moscow region suffered only minor damage, with debris striking the building’s wall.
Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Wildberries warehouses in recent weeks, alleging that the firm supplies parts for Russian drones.
