Drought Reveals Mammoth Bones Along Danube Sparks Volunteer Fossil Hunt in Bulgaria

As Europe’s drought drives river levels to historic lows, volunteers are combing the exposed banks of the Danube in northern Bulgaria, near the spot where receding waters uncovered mammoth bones in July. Roughly twenty participants have signed up for the fossil‑hunting initiative coordinated by the Regional Museum of History in Ruse, hoping to uncover additional prehistoric remains or artifacts.
