Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams will grace the cover of Madden NFL 27 for the first time, and the title will also debut a play popularized by a rival franchise.
EA Sports plans to reveal both Madden NFL 27 and the newest installment of its college football series Thursday night. A promotional social media post offered early screenshots showcasing Fernando Mendoza in a Las Vegas Raiders uniform, Myles Garrett in his new Los Angeles Rams attire, and a sequence from a Philadelphia Eagles–New York Giants matchup.
That sequence highlights the “tush push,” featuring Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts preparing to plunge into the line for a touchdown attempt.
League owners considered banning the play before the 2025 season, but the proposal failed to secure sufficient support. Philadelphia’s success rate with the maneuver declined during the season, and no formal push to prohibit it emerged this offseason.
