Eddie Hearn has identified a domestic heavyweight matchup slated for the forthcoming Matchroom Boxing versus Queensberry Promotions card.
The inaugural 5v5 card was held in June 2024, and Queensberry promoter Frank Warren secured a decisive 10‑0 victory.
The scoring system awarded bonus points for stoppage wins, with Hamzah Sheeraz captaining Queensberry and Deontay Wilder leading the Matchroom side.
Sheeraz extended Queensberry’s advantage with an 11th‑round knockout of Austin Williams, whereas Wilder’s fifth‑round loss to Zhilei Zhang further complicated Matchroom’s situation.
A rematch between the two promotions is planned for later this year, providing Hearn the chance to avenge his team in a possible 7v7 bout.
Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn has already floated a potential rematch between Callum Smith and Joshua Buatsi, who contested a compelling light‑heavyweight encounter in February 2025.
“Johnny Fisher against Dillian Whyte. These discussions started [nearly two weeks ago]. This [Matchroom vs Queensberry card] will be even bigger than the first one. This will have a much more domestic slant on it as well.”
Fisher has competed only once, securing a fourth‑round knockout of the relatively unknown Ivan Balaz, after suffering a fifth‑round stoppage loss to Dave Allen in May 2025.
Whyte has not fought since his first‑round loss to Moses Itauma in August, when the 38‑year‑old appeared his age and struggled to deal with the opponent’s explosive movement.
