The military’s media affairs wing announced on Saturday that eight militants were eliminated in two rapid‑paced intelligence operations carried out in the Kharan and Mastung districts of Balochistan.

In a statement, the Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the intelligence‑driven raids took place on June 25 and 26, forming part of the broader counter‑terrorism effort targeting the group designated as Fitna al Hindustan.

Pakistani authorities have labelled Balochistan‑based militant outfits as Fitna al Hindustan to underscore what they describe as India’s alleged involvement in fomenting terrorism and instability within the country.

The statement noted that on June 25, security forces detected the movement of a militant group in Kharan district.

“Following a precise and skillful engagement, three militants linked to the Indian‑backed Fitna al Hindustan were killed and several others were wounded,” the statement added.

It further stated that on June 26, a pre‑emptive intelligence‑led operation was launched in Mastung district to address the suspected presence of a suicide bomber.

During the operation, security forces engaged the militants’ position; after an intense firefight, five terrorists—including a suicide bomber—were neutralized, according to ISPR.

The forces also recovered weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices and motorbikes used by the militants.

The statement added that clearance operations are underway to root out any remaining India‑linked militants in the region, and that the counter‑terrorism campaign will proceed at full intensity to eradicate foreign‑sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari commended the security forces for the successful operations, noting that they reflected the troops’ professionalism and resolve.

“Operations must continue until foreign‑sponsored terrorism is fully eradicated from the nation,” he said in a statement released by the Presidency.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the security forces, stating that the fight against terrorism will persist until all forms of extremism are eliminated from Pakistan, according to a release from the Prime Minister’s Office.

“The enemies of Pakistan’s peace will suffer a decisive defeat on every front,” he added.
