Only 28 days remain before the new season starts, and over 30 pre‑season matches will be held throughout the country, including a few abroad, as clubs gear up for the 2026/27 Motorpoint Elite League campaign.
The pre‑season kicks off tonight in Cardiff, with the Devils hosting the Danish side Odense Bulldogs at the Vindico Arena.
Several familiar faces will be present as the Bulldogs arrive in South Wales. Cardiff’s head coach, Paul Thompson, coached in Odense for four seasons, and assistant coach Nicklas Hovivuori, together with defenceman Brandon Estes, previously spent a year with the Danish club before joining Cardiff.
In the previous season, the Bulldogs placed fifth in the Danish regular league and secured two victories in six Champions Hockey League games.
The opening face‑off is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight, and the two teams will meet again on Sunday at the Vindico Arena to conclude their two‑game series and the opening weekend of EIHL pre‑season action.
